Nana's Chili Sauce

Scald, Peel & Chop in Cuisinart:

    • Approximately 40 Large Tomatoes


Chop Into Small Pieces:

    • 5 Green Peppers - Seeded
    • 2 Red Peppers - Seeded
    • 1 Large Bunch of Celery
    • 5 Onions


Add The Following:

    • 1 1/2 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
    • 1 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
    • 1/4 Cup Salt
    • 1 1/2 Tsp. Ground Black Pepper


Seasoning Bag Filled With:

    • Approximately 4 Sticks Cinnamon
    • 30 Whole Allspice
    • 30 Whole Cloves
    • 1 Tsp. Celery Seed

Cook these ingredients slowly until thick for about 3 hours. Stir them frequently to prevent burning. Add salt, if needed. Place in jars. Makes approximately 12 pints.
