Cheese Wafers


    • 2 Sticks Butter (1 Cup)
    • 2-1/2 Cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese - Grated
    • 2 Cups Flour
    • 1 Tsp Cayenne Pepper
    • 2 Tsp Lawry's Seasoning Salt
    • 2 Cups Chopped Nuts (Or 2 Cups Rice Krispies)


Bring butter and cheese to room temperature, then cream together. Add flour, cayenne pepper and salt slowly. Mix well. Add nuts. Roll into long cylinder (about 1-1/2" diameter). Wrap in saran wrap and chill. Slice into thin slices. (Optional: sprinkle with a small amount of cayenne pepper after slicing/before cooking for a little extra bite.) Bake 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees F.

Notes: I bake mine about 8 minutes and then flip them over and bake another 5-6 minutes. Lee likes them very crispy and well done. Also, I use roasted, salted pecans for the nuts...extra yummy!
