Dressing for Turkey


    • 1 Large Loaf White Bread - Toasted Under Broiler, and Torn into Small Pieces
    • 1 Pckg Jiffy Cornbread - Prepared According to Pckg Directions and Cut Into Small Squares
    • 3 Bunches Scallions - Chopped
    • 1 Cup Celery - Chopped
    • 1-1/2 Sticks Butter
    • 2 Quarts Chicken Broth - Boiling
    • 6 Eggs - Beaten Slightly
    • 1 Tbs Sugar


Saute scallions and celery in butter until softened. Mix together toasted bread and cornbread, sauted vegetables, chicken broth and eggs. Add cracked black pepper and salt to taste. The mixture will be soupy. Add additional hot water if necessary. Put in a buttered 4 quart casserole dish. Can be frozen until ready to bake. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 20 minutes.
