Nana's Chili Sauce
Scald, Peel & Chop in Cuisinart:
- Approximately 40 Large Tomatoes
Chop Into Small Pieces:
- 5 Green Peppers - Seeded
- 2 Red Peppers - Seeded
- 1 Large Bunch of Celery
- 5 Onions
Add The Following:
- 1 1/2 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
- 1 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
- 1/4 Cup Salt
- 1 1/2 Tsp. Ground Black Pepper
Seasoning Bag Filled With:
- Approximately 4 Sticks Cinnamon
- 30 Whole Allspice
- 30 Whole Cloves
- 1 Tsp. Celery Seed
Cook these ingredients slowly until thick for about 3 hours. Stir them frequently to prevent burning. Add salt, if needed. Place in jars. Makes approximately 12 pints.
