How To Cook Pork Tender (7-6-5 Method)
Step 1: Heat a gas grill, turning on all burners to high until the grill is fully heated (10-15 minutes)
Step 2: Put the pork on the hot grill grate. Close the lid and grill for 7 minutes.
Step 3: Turn the pork over, close the lid, and grill for another 6 minutes.
Step 4: Turn off the heat (keep the lid closed) and continue to cook the pork for another 5 minutes. At this point, an instant-read thermometer inserted into the middle of the thickest end of the tenderloin should read 145-150 degrees. If not, close the lid and let the pork continue to roast in the residual grill heat.
Step 5: Cut across the grain into 1/2" slices and serve immediately, with the sauce of your choice.
***NOTE: We have found that it worked better to give the pork an extra minute during the first three steps. In other words, making in the 8-7-6 minute method as opposed to the 7-6-5 method. Overall cooking time will depend on the heat of the grill.
